My Teaching Philosophy

As a French teacher, my goal is to share my knowledge and passion for the French and the Spanish languages with my English-speaking students.

 

I want you to know that as anglophones, you are at a great advantage when it comes to learning French or Spanish. Many words overlap or at least give clues to their meaning as many times the English word is derived from French or Spanish! All what you need is the right attitude and choose the right method of learning. And, of course, the right teacher!!

 

Trying to learn a language with an app or a video is a recipe for failure when you can instead do it with a real teacher who will bring French and Spanish alive. Language is a communication between people, with a good part of spontaneity. Also, body language, facial expressions, gestures supplement the mere language. No app or video can provide this!

 

I focus on the communicative aspect of the language which generates rapid improvement and raises your self-confidence. This process is key because teaching and learning are based on motivation. 

 

My method is cross-disciplinary: we use the language to talk about all types of subjects like economics, music, geography, history, cooking, art, …..

 

I work with you on vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing, conversation, and, of course, pronunciation in a fun way so you enjoy learning.
